Mass Effect 2: What Mass Effect 2 Means For Star Wars: The Old Republic (Video)
Feb 16th
I have fallen in love with BioWare’s RPG’s. Many of you may have been experiencing the quality games they’ve been putting out for quite a while now, but I was a relative RPG newbie – until recently. I had not played Mass Effect 1, but had ME2 on pre-order, especially after having played Dragon Age: Origins. Nearly 3 weeks after I started the game, I have completely finished the game on Insanity difficulty twice. I did it first as a Sentinel and second as a Vanguard. I also played about half the game as an Adept, and… Read >>
Star Wars: The Old Republic – The Wait Is Over…In 2011
Jan 12th
So the wait for SWTOR is almost over right? Wrong. It was widely rumored from EA chief John Rittecelo’s recent statement during an EA earnings meeting that SWTOR’s target launch date would be in the spring of 2011. I didn’t know how to feel about that statement as SWTOR wasn’t specifically named in his statement, but it was obvious that he was talking about that game. EA doesn’t have any other MMO with an equal or higher production value to potentially impact EA’s earnings the way SWTOR can, so that had to be… Read >>
GRATS! The De-Evolution of the Quest
Dec 9th
Ah, the fabled quest. That one activity that’s prevalent through many games, both single player RPGs and MMOs. How far the “quest” has come from its early days.
Not to sound like an old man, but in my day we had to trudge across miles in Azeroth with no mount, and the snow weather system wasn’t even invented in the game yet! We had to read the quest log to get our clues! None of these fancy dancy wikis or quest helper mods were around to help us and none of those prissy sparkles… Read >>
Our 2009 Game Awards: Presenting The 1st Annual Golden Noobs!
Dec 7th
In the same vein as every ceremony that awards a trophy to an actor or musician we bring you ITG’s 1st annual game awards: The Golden Noob Awards! The Golden Noob is a virtual trophy awarded by ITG staff every year as a way to bestow praise (or disdain) upon the games that have crossed our paths in the year that was. Getting a Golden Noob trophy is an honor (or disgrace, depending on why it is awarded) to receive because we are all gamers as well as writers.
Without further delay, here are the ITG… Read >>
GRATS! : I Sense A Great Disturbance In The Force.
Nov 30th
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened. Could it be because I have returned to creating web comics and blogs? Quite possibly.
First, let me make some introductions. I’m Greg Moran, a.k.a. Rackham, the newest addition to the I’m Talkin Games family. To quote Troy McClure, you may remember me from such former blogs as the Warhammer Online web-comic, Tome of Knowledge. During that time I wrote commentaries on the status of WAR… Read >>
Das Leckage: German Magazine Images Show SWTOR’s Final Two Classes
Nov 23rd
From the land of der wienerschnitzel we get some leaky updatege about BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic. Apparently PC Gamer magazine in Germany got the rights to an exclusive on SWTOR’s last two remaining classes, and the latest issue of that magazine tells us (albeit in German) the scoop on what these two new classes are likely to be.
An industrious fan scanned images from the magazine in anonymous style, and posted the scanned images online. I took the liberty to download and provide those here for your viewing pleasure in case those disappear… Read >>

Eye Candy, Anticipation And Games: Why Cinematic Intros Should Go Away

As gamers we’ve all experienced the anticipation of a new game that we are really looking forward to playing. With that anticipation, we usually devour all the information we can get about a title. When a game company releases a cinematic intro for our anticipated game, we drool over how awesome the game will be based on how well the cinematic was done. Great cinematics for many games have been released, and I can tell you not one of them gives the average player a decent idea of what the actual game play is like. Game cinematics… Read >>
