1.  PVP and PVE balance

Dismiss one play style or the other at your own peril.  There is a reason that games like Call of Duty have single player campaigns, and World of Warcraft has battlegrounds.  Both styles of game play provide a good mix of experiences for the player, and draw a wider range of gamers to a given title.  Having both in an online game seems just about mandatory for today’s games.

Many games pit the player versus the environment.  Via developer scripted battles and non player characters,  these games give their audience a great experience

APB: Podcast Episode 12 – Arrest…No, Execute Criminals

APB’s podcast went up recently and it shows the final stretch of the long running game play segments that RTW has been showing us through these podcasts.  This time, we see more gun play and a little vehicle action but also a bit about how player’s levels are displayed and the “call for backup” mechanic.  An additional feature was shown, where the cops can arrest a criminal…or your crooked cop buddy can execute them while you are reading them their rights.  Check the clip below to see it all in action:
