I have fallen in love with BioWare’s RPG’s. Many of you may have been experiencing the quality games they’ve been putting out for quite a while now, but I was a relative RPG newbie – until recently. I had not played Mass Effect 1, but had ME2 on pre-order, especially after having played Dragon Age: Origins. Nearly 3 weeks after I started the game, I have completely finished the game on Insanity difficulty twice. I did it first as a Sentinel and second as a Vanguard. I also played about half the game as an Adept, and… Read >>

1. PVP and PVE balance
Dismiss one play style or the other at your own peril. There is a reason that games like Call of Duty have single player campaigns, and World of Warcraft has battlegrounds. Both styles of game play provide a good mix of experiences for the player, and draw a wider range of gamers to a given title. Having both in an online game seems just about mandatory for today’s games.
Many games pit the player versus the environment. Via developer scripted battles and non player characters, these games give their audience a great experience
Ah, the fabled quest. That one activity that’s prevalent through many games, both single player RPGs and MMOs. How far the “quest” has come from its early days.
Not to sound like an old man, but in my day we had to trudge across miles in Azeroth with no mount, and the snow weather system wasn’t even invented in the game yet! We had to read the quest log to get our clues! None of these fancy dancy wikis or quest helper mods were around to help us and none of those prissy sparkles… Read >>

In the same vein as every ceremony that awards a trophy to an actor or musician we bring you ITG’s 1st annual game awards: The Golden Noob Awards! The Golden Noob is a virtual trophy awarded by ITG staff every year as a way to bestow praise (or disdain) upon the games that have crossed our paths in the year that was. Getting a Golden Noob trophy is an honor (or disgrace, depending on why it is awarded) to receive because we are all gamers as well as writers.
Without further delay, here are the ITG… Read >>
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened. Could it be because I have returned to creating web comics and blogs? Quite possibly.
First, let me make some introductions. I’m Greg Moran, a.k.a. Rackham, the newest addition to the I’m Talkin Games family. To quote Troy McClure, you may remember me from such former blogs as the Warhammer Online web-comic, Tome of Knowledge. During that time I wrote commentaries on the status of WAR… Read >>
Last night brought me to the completion of the main story line in Dragon Age: Origins. I had alot of fun with this game, and while some parts seemed a bit drawn out, the end campaign was not. I’ll post full spoilers and video in another post, but for now I thought I’d take the time to pass along some useful information that I would have liked to have known before getting started. There’s shouldn’t be much in the way of spoilers below, but if you get satisfaction out of doing it all on your own (even… Read >>

I love the shield cover. If this game holds up to be everything the clips show, it will be awesome. I just hope it looks good on paper and live.
I have no idea what the next 2 classes will be. To me, I think the next 2 will be the most exciting. My question is: Are they saving the best for last? It is hard for me to think of a class because I am tainted by SWG. I was thinking some kind of pet class but most fans think that is a no go. Are we going to see healers, medics, support classes, or Bioware is hiding the fact that all classes can be specced to do anything? I’m lost. I’m trying to think of a famous SW character to model after.
Does ITG crew have any guesses? I’m not a SW lore geek so I don’t know beyond SWG, what there is.

I don’t think we have any really solid clues to go on for the last 2 classes. If I had to guess though, I’d think they’d make some sort of pet class for each side. Think squad leader with troops, creature handler with pets, droid engineer with robots, etc.

That is what I thought too, but on DH and the forums the popular thought is no pet classes because you can have NPC companions. I’ve researched Star Wars notable characters and they have been covered in some way by TOR. The only things not covered are out there as classes. Example: Droids, Pilot, Tuskin Raider (crazy raider type in general), a brute like Wookies, or some type of weapons engineer ( too much like Agent, Smuggler, Trooper, BH).
I’m trying to think outside the box, but can’t find any other interesting class besides a pet class or support class. If they have entertainers/dancers I’m just going to stay with WoW.
All these ranged classes minus the Jedi makes me think the next 2 classes will be up close and personal. I don’t know tho. All I can think of is SWG TK as a class worth a bucket of poop.

That’s right, now that you mention it. I won’t be surprised to see npc companions, just like they have in Dragon Age. Those companions make pet classes irrelevant, especially when you can just click to control and play as the pet. Perhaps a healing/support class, but I don’t know if they will necessarily go with the healer/tank/dps trinity style of class make up. If there is going to be space driven combat, the pilot based characters would certainly make sense too! GRRR just announce them BioWare! Probably going to be another 30-45 days till the final 2 are announced, they’ll probably draw it out.
